Between my CGK-NRT flight and NRT-ORD flight, I had a good 4 hours transit time in Narita. As I recently obtained Star Alliance Gold status, I was eligible to use ANA Arrival Lounge so I decided to check it out. Here is what they have to offer.
I came in at about 7am, right when the lounge just opened. Very empty to start with.
Prepared are a selection of yogurt cups, slider sized sandwiches.
Check out the hi-tech digital coffee maker. Just press what you want and you’ll get it. I tried cappuccino, did not disappoint.
Oh my, you can start drinking from 7 am! And no one is checking your ID. And its good beer! Kirin ICHIBAN!
Beside every individual seat, you can find this awesome charger provided by Docomo. It has plugs for all different gadgets.
The lounge has a few of this thing where people can talk on the phone inside it and supposedly keep the noise down. Didn’t really see anyone using it so I’m not sure about it.
Here’s a different angle of the cellphone use carrel (?)
When you get into the lounge, you can pick up Japanese or International newspapers. I picked the International Herald Tribune and found an article on airport lounges. Funny coincidence.
The lounge has a noodle bar where you can have made to order Japanese noodle or rice bowl. It’s pretty awesome.
After udon breakfast, coffee, and some newspaper reading, I tried the shower facility. You sign up at the shower room dedicated reception desk, you get a key to use a shower room for 30 minutes plus amenities kit. Yay for Japanese toilet gadgetry!
A close up look of the toilet and the features you can use to clean your behind.
Here’s a closer look at the sink and towel tray.
And here’s a look at the amenities kit, pretty complete set.
After shower, I tried the message chair. There were about 6 lined up, lucky I got the only one empty. Very nice.
Here’s a different angle of the massage chair. The seat is surrounded by semi private cubicles to provide some privacy. There’s a 15-minute limit but many people dozed off using the chair.
There are many working tables where people can use their laptop and charge their gadgets while catching up on work or watch a movie on your laptop.
As part of the business area, you can even print or make copies using this machine.
Sake Bar! Open from morning time…
Before I left, with a heavy heart, I checked out the bar selection. Not bad, not bad at all. It was a little too early for a heavy drink. Next time.
