Singapore Airlines opened its SilverKris Lounge at London Heathrow Airport, Terminal 2, in mid April 2015. The terminal itself, dubbed ‘The Queen’s Terminal‘ is only about one year old and is the home of Star Alliance partners airlines and four other airlines (Aer Lingus, Germanwings, Virgin Atlantic, and Iceland Air). I got a chance to check out the Business Class lounge a few weeks after it was opened. I did not see many reviews of this lounge aside from those related to the launch along with photos probably provided by the airlines.
I came in to a virtually empty lounge as the morning flight just left and the next SIA flight, my flight was not leaving for another 6 or so hours. It felt like I have the whole place to myself. I took a shower and settled in on one of the first-class cabin like seats.
I will cover the lounge’s shower room in a separate post, right after. UPDATE: here you go… (hover and click on the text).
This lounge is located in Terminal 2B, on the 2F right beside Air Canada lounge, and close to gate B36. It is open to first class and business passengers flying with SQ or any Star Alliance airline, and to Star Alliance Gold members.

Now to find a place to sit for the next few hours… There are many options, especially when the lounge is practically empty.
Many of the seats are equipped with power and usb outlets. You can also borrow a converter if you don’t have the UK version. You can ask one of the attendant or head to the front desk. Your boarding pass will be kept by front desk until you return the converter.
If you have children, there’s a cozy section at the back side of the lounge where kids can play and be kids.
For the older ones, a bar awaits just as you pass the food area.
Another angle of the bar. There are snacks in a jar and wine bottles where you can help yourself to a glass… or a bottle.
It might look empty when I took this but as it gets closer to departure time, oh it gets crowded!
On the hallway, towards the restroom and shower area are three well stocked magazine and newspapers shelves.
I finally settled in to one of these seating area. Wi-fi is available throughout the lounge with excellent signal and no password needed.
Settled in, opened up my laptop, and started with these. Joe&Seph’s gourmet salty caramel popcorn and Fuller’s London Pride – since I was in London area.
The beer selection: Beck’s, Cobra, Peroni, London Pride, Heineken, and Tiger.
Plenty of beverage options: alcoholic, soda-based canned drinks, coffee, and tea.
Joe&Seph’s gourmet popcorn: tofee apple with cinnamon and salty caramel. What a treat! Maybe United could feature Garret’s popcorn at their Chicago United Club locations – that’d bring some local touch to the place and ‘class’ it up a little bit.
Beside the popcorn jars are two cookie jars and cupcake selections. The cookies are tasty! I did not try the cupcakes though it looks promising!
On the other side of the table top are wine selections. There’s also a toaster for your pastry selections.
There’s also orange juice and iced tea dispenser beside the wine bottles.
I tried a couple of canned drinks that I’m not familiar with or maybe not easily found in the US. Pictured here: Schweppes Bitter Lemon and some Japanese spicy salty rice crackers.
Then off to the warm food! Here’s Singaporean fried rice noodle. Oh I love and missed these so much. I think I had three (small) plates as I tried different things.
There’s also briyani rice and chicken paneer. There’s also a vegetarian option for the paneer.
There’s also a do-it-yourself noodle station. So I made myself this noodle bowl with yellow noodles, half boiled egg, shrimp wonton, chopped green onions, and fried onions. Also very yummy!
Warm appetizers: meaty cupcake, spring roll, and chicken satay.
Sandwich and wrap selections along side salad bowls and dressings.
Singapore sling in ice cream form! Celebrating its new lounge opening and new daily London service, SQ created a new ice cream flavor inspired by their famous cocktail. Sounds interesting though I didn’t get a chance to try it.
Fresh fruit selections: two types of apple and banana.
Cut fruits, smoothies, fruit cups, desserts, berry shots, mango coconut granola, bircher muesli, and cheese fruit plate.
